  • How a Book is Made   Step by step description of how a book is made by childrens author Aliki.
  • Fake Out!  A definition guessing game for children from Kindergarten to High School.  There are three levels to this game.  The vocabulary words change each week.

  • Wacky Web Tales, Wacky Tales & Wacky Words  Use these internet sites to write some of the wackiest stories ever written.  WARNING:   You must be able to follow some simple directions and know the parts of speech (nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc.).
  • Spell Check Game  Something is wrong with one of these words.  Can you find the misspelled word and correct it.

  • Animals and Zoos
    • ZooNet for Kids  A central directory of zoos with websites.  This page is an excellent site for photos, activities and information about animals.
    • Lindsay's & Megan's Zoo   Lindsay, thirteen, and her sister Megan, eleven, do not operate a REAL zoo, but have created a wonderful cyber zoo. Each animal has a description and a photo. Many also have sound clips.
    • Animals & Pets  A directory page listing sites about animals and pets which children might be interested in.
    • The Electronic Zoo  The site was created by vets to tell children about animals.
    • Sea World's Animal Bytes  Find information about some of the unique creatures found in the animal kingdom.
    • Endangered Species   Information about the effects humans have on  the environment presented by the National Wildlife Federation.
  • I Know That
  • Volcano World's Kids' Door   This link will take you to childrens books, art, virtual field trip, quizes, online student projects, games and activities that relate to volcanos.
  • WhaleNet  Information about whales.
  • Neverous System  An internet activity that explains how the neverous system works in elementary terms.
  • The Nine Planets - Just for Kids   Take an field trip to the nine planets on the internet.  This site was created for lower elementary students.
  • Dinosaurs
    • DinoFest  Games, activities and information relating to dinosaurs.
    • Zoom Dinosaurs  An on-line hypertext book about dinosaurs. It is designed for students of all ages.
  • The Water Cycle   Explains the water cycle and the importance of water as a natural resource.
